If you are struggling with just having 6 talent points now with the expansion and miss having all those options (did you really have any?), I have a very simple explanation to help clear your mind:
Remember how, really, you had to spend points in certain things or you were just plain bad? Or it meant you couldn’t read properly? Or you were just not taking your class seriously? Basically, after your spending that you had to do you’d have a handful of left over points to spend (for most classes) that you could spend anywhere after the cookie cutter?
Consider these six that handful. All the other points are now automatically given to you. That is, what, like 31 less mouse clicks you have to think about.
Why is this good? When you respec you don’t have to open your browser and look up builds (to find the one you like only to find it has since been optimized by a slightly different point spend with 2/3 in something verses the 3/3 you had always known and loved) but can literally do it on the fly.
You respec, you move on with life quickly. This is a great change.
Old school players will remember when you didn’t have to fill out to the top of the tree, yeah? Those days I miss, particularly with certain classes (looking at your Ms Warlock). True hybrid building. But since Cata and the way they forced you to always take the 31 in a single tree (which was almost always ideal for raiding anyway) then this change is pure win.
